It only costs £40 to feed and educate one more child for a year through our school feeding programmes. Each meal provides a child with 60% of their nutritional requirement, every day they go to school.
Education is often sacrificed for families living in extreme poverty whose natural option is to see their children as part of the family workforce. Where school feeding is available, education becomes a welcome alternative to families and part of a sustainable solution for the long term transformation of whole communities.
Members of The Global Angels International Advisory Board have researched, visited and chosen many dynamic projects that are making a very real difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of children in serious need. We have partnered with many excellent projects that work to provide food and education simultaneously to thousands of young children, offering not just survival but empowering them with the skills they need for a positive future. Most of the projects make use of school gardens where the children learn how to cultivate their own food, to supplement the school diet with fresh fruit and vegetables.
Education is the single best investment countries can make towards building prosperous, healthy and equitable societies.
We are currently running school feeding programs in Kenya, Uganda, Mozambique and Sierra Leone. Check out our project pages here.
