In November 2005 we launched FEED A CHILD FOR A YEAR - our campaign to feed one million children a year in Africa and Asia. For just £40 you can FEED A CHILD FOR A YEAR through our school feeding programs and social welfare/HIV feeding clinics and orphanages. We are excited to announce that we are now feeding over 1,000 children a day! Why FEED A CHILD FOR A YEAR? 15 million children having been orphaned by HIV/AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia; alongside the droughts, wars and famines plaguing so many parts Africa the situation is desperate. Orphaned children, as young as nine and ten are the primary caregivers for younger siblings. It is crucial for us to get nutritional food and aid to these children for them to survive and thrive. Global Angels has excellent on-the-ground partners, working with us. The Global Angels International Consultancy Team have researched, visited and chosen many dynamic projects that are making a very real difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of children in serious need - in Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Sudan, Niger, South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, Democratice Republic of Congo, Malawi, Kenya , Sri Lanka, and India. Global Angels is partnering with Joint Aid Management (JAM). JAM currently feed around 350,000 children every day in 9 African countries -South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya and Sudan with a vision to feed one million every day. Funded by UN WFP - World Food Programme and other donors, the children are fed through school feeding programmes. This strategy encourages children to attend school.
