Camps International promote sustainable development through responsible travel, providing camps and projects across Africa, Asia and South America for people who are looking to travel and make a difference along the way. These ethical journeys allow travellers of all ages to contribute to economic development through organised volunteer programmes. They are the top provider in the UK and global leaders in responsible school travel, offering fully supported school expeditions.
Their foundation empowers local communities, providing skills training, working against gender discrimination and creating solutions to existing issues that currently impact communities negatively. They are constantly developing innovative solutions to tackle the challenges posed by climate change, and their environmental projects help people use the resources they need without compromising them for future generations.
Global Angels have been partnered with Camps International since 2011 with the company donating significant auction prizes each year for our Global Angel Awards. Furthermore, Camps International shares several core values with Global Angels. They also implement a 100% promise on donations to their foundation, as do we, to ensure that every penny raised by the foundation is spent on essential projects around the globe. Like us at Global Angels, Camps International are advocates of responsible business and pay close attention to where your money is utilised.
In 2013, Global Angels Founder, Molly Bedingfield visited their conservations and community projects in the Kasigau Corridor, Kenya. Global Angels and Camps International are now working on a major project to develop a replicable model of sustainable community development in the region, which is referred to as The Tsavo Project. As part of this community transformation programme, we are working together on ways to provide safe drinking water to over 100,000 people in the Taru Desert and empower the local women and families through small business creation. This community has been trapped in a cycle of poverty for generations but thanks to Global Angels and Camps International, this cycle can be irradiated to make way for a brighter future.
