Amy-Carter James of ‘Mucojo Project’ Wins Young Leader Award 2011

Our very own Angel Ambassador and founder of the Nema Foundation, Amy Carter-James, won the prestigious 2011 Young Leader Award at the International Hotel Investment Forum.

Recognised as one of ‘the most respected entrepreneurs in the tourism industry,’ Amy achieved the award through her efforts with the Guludo Beach Lodge, of which she is co-owner with husband Neal. Guludo is a ‘responsible tourism’ initiative which enables the local community to work their way out of poverty, while providing a luxury resort for tourism.

The Nema Foundation, a charity into which Global Angels has invested and continues to support, works in the areas around the lodge and with the local families to alleviate poverty in the area.
