Giles is Deputy CEO of Robert Walters plc, the UK-listed multi-sector recruitment consultancy which recently reported global revenue of £598m and gross profit of £199.2m.
After working in recruitment for Accountancy Selection Limited and Badenoch & Clark Limited, Giles joined Robert Walters in 1998 at a time when the company employed 34 people and 1 had office. During the last 26 years Giles has been instrumental in the growth of Robert Walters into a company employing 2,500 people operating in 24 countries around the world. From 1990 to 1994, Giles was based in Amsterdam and was responsible for the Group's Dutch and Belgian operations. He was involved in Robert Walters’ 1st flotation in 1996, the subsequent sale of Robert Walters to Staffmark Inc in 1998 and then the refloating in 2000. During this period Giles has been involved in three acquisitions - two in Australia and one in China. Giles was appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer in 1999, and was appointed to the Board of Robert Walters plc in July 2000. In 2016, Giles was appointed Deputy CEO.
Giles lives in Clapham with his family and enjoys both playing and watching sports including golf, rugby and hockey; he represented England at hockey and is Vice President of Richmond Hockey Club.
