After visiting the Tsavo Project, twice since February, to support Jackson and the Team, we are almost ready to open our second Global Angels Farm site in the Itinyi Valley, Kenya.
For the last four years, I have had my eye on a two acre piece of land, opposite the local primary and secondary schools and very close to the Global Angels Farm. I believed that we had an opportunity, with minimal investment, to transform this largely derelict site into a centre that could greatly benefit the community. I was therefore delighted when a local community group offered us a long term lease on the whole property.
Our newly acquired land, which we have named The Mkulima Centre, will be home to the Global Angels Mill, our Farm Shop, a classroom for our Sustainable Training Programme, and various agricultural initiatives.
From The Mkulima Centre we will be selling ‘Global Angels Farm and Mill’ branded produce including poultry, fish, honey, mushrooms, vegetables, fruit and milled animal feed. It’s exciting to be at this stage of developing the project.
The Global Angels Farm Shop and Accommodation
Our team has almost completed building the Global Angels Farm Shop and accommodation complex, pulled down buildings that were in complete disrepair, and then renovated two old buildings to become The Mkulima Centre.
The Global Angels Mill (entrance through the green door in the photo below) will process animal feed to be sold throughout the region. The Sustainable Community Learning Centre classroom and office entrance are to the side of the building.

The old buildings on the site that were built on weak foundations, and had termite damage were pulled down (see above left). The only building we could renovate, had the building height raised, all beams and wood work replaced, a new roof, awnings and door. It is now our storage building for grains and milled products.
New Accommodation on the Global Angels Farm Site
Our team have completed new staff accommodation on the main Global Angels Farm site beside the Community Farm Centre building (see photos below). The previous accommodation block has been repurposed as a poultry building to house chicks as part of the poultry business expansion.

What’s Next?
We are expanding our training programme to include Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration. By regenerating land and trees in the area we will make a significant impact in mitigating the effects of climate change in the Itinyi Valley – watch this space!
